Global Studies 005 is a 3-unit Mission College Social Sciences class with credit accepted by the University of California and California State University systems. In January 2009, Global Studies 005 toured three European Union countries.

Which countries? We invite you to follow our blog and find out!

From the 2008-2009 Mission College Catalog…

Students in this class study, compare, and contrast the values, beliefs, behaviors, systems and cultures of the U.S. with those of at least one other country. Part of the course concentrates on discovering and defining what it means to be “American.” Students then undergo intensive immersion in a foreign culture to learn about similarities and differences in perspectives, values, beliefs, systems, and behaviors. In so doing, students develop a better understanding of who they are as well as of the interdependence and interrelatedness of the world’s many cultures.
